Geotagging photo’s from you mobile phone

ZoneTag is a piece of software for your mobile phone, making it easier to upload photo’s to Flickr.

It can automatically tag photo’s with the location, based on the cell tower. A tutorial on Plasticbag.org shows how to connect a bluetooth GPS for real accuracy!

Also, it suggests tags: “suggestions are based on tags made by you and your Flickr contacts in similar context, e.g. in the same location”.

Unfortunately my phone and country are not supported. There is alternative software though.

  1. Tom Coates says:

I don’t know that I can help about the phone, but I think it should work in the Netherlands, although it won’t give you as much location or contextual information.

  2. Zoran Kovacevic says:

On the site it says: “Regretfully, ZoneTag is currently offered as a US-only research prototype, which means that many of the features are available only in the US.”, so I assumed ZoneTag wouldn’t work.
But anyway, I’m having phone trouble (both platform and connectivity suck at this point ;)
